Activities

Banque Populaire Occitane, a cooperative bank whose share capital is owned by its 197,000 cooperative shareholders, provides grassroots support to a total of 603,000 customers.

Thanks to the energy and expertise of its teams working through 201 retail branches, business centers, and specialized networks (Agriculture, Private Banking, a branch dedicated to start-ups and innovative companies) along with its three central facilities, the bank enhances its strong local presence still further with the help of a panoply of digital tools.

With 57,000 life projects financed in 2022 in its eight departments, Banque Populaire Occitane has built on its commercial dynamism to attract 12,000 new customers. Its growing market share stood at 15.8% for loans and 12.9% for deposits at December 31, 2022.

Despite the unsettled economic environment last year, the Group recorded net income of €94.3 million for the period ending December 31, 2022, allowing it to consolidate its position and strengthen its equity capital, enabling it to look confidently to 2023 and the many challenges the year will bring.

Attentive to the needs of its local communities and faithful to its roots as a cooperative bank, Banque Populaire Occitane is making strong CSR commitments for 2023, and is developing its expertise in supporting its customers' energy transition in liaison with the Banque de la Transition Energétique (Bank of Energy Transition).

Sport & Patronage

Banque Populaire Occitane brings financial support to its territory’s associative sector in the areas of sport, culture or economic development to which it allocates an annual budget of more than €1m.

Boasting a deep-rooted commitment to the world of sport, Banque Populaire Occitane has long supported more than 300 amateur and professional sports clubs in the eight départements of its catchment area.

At the same time, in the run-up to Paris 2024, it is supporting 5 regional sportsmen and women in their ambition to compete in the Olympic & Paralympic Games: Boris Neveu (kayaking), Maxime Valet (wheelchair fencing), Hilary Kpatcha (long jump)), Clémence Vieira (beach volleyball), and Benjamin Robert (800m running).

What is more, working through its corporate philanthropy program, the bank supports environmental projects pursued by players not eligible for the assistance of its Corporate Foundation. It also finances cultural projects, the returns from which are primarily used to support the activities of its cooperative shareholders.

For the past 12 years, the bank’s Corporate Foundation has supported solidarity-based projects run by regional associations in 6 key areas (health, disability, actions to promote community relationships and social integration, educational projects or environmental initiatives).
